I Need Cash… Can I Rent Out My RV?
The answer to this question depends on who you ask. If you ask your high school buddy, your mother-in-law, or the local pastor, they might say, “Yeah, why not?”
But if you ask your insurance agent, the answer will be a resounding NO. All carriers have stipulations on their policy stating that any business use of your RV or trailer is stictly prohibited. Business Use can be defined simply as “revenue generating.” If you are bringing in money from your rental, you are voiding your coverage.
So the next time you’re looking to make some quick money, please DO NOT rent out your RV or trailer. If something happens to it while it is being rented, it is likely that the carrier would and could decline coverage.
Be safe this summer!
